Yeah, I know this isn't exactly English learning- or Japanese community-related, but I've seen from firsthand experience that most Japanese families struggle with the same marriage and parenting issues that other families face - actually many more since they often have very little in the way of guidance and instruction and training we're surrounded with in Southern Bible Belt culture on the radio, in magazines, Sunday mornings, and in our house groups. For instance,
Family Life Today.
Also, there's the whole different worldview issue about the
laissez-faire nature of Man that Buddhism and especially Shinto brings to the table (but that's a whole 'nother article).
Anyway, the point is, if you're dealing with problems in your marriage right now, there's a seminar this Friday for ya. There's a Parenting Seminar coming up I think two weeks from now. Also, as always, free food.
(FYI, every other week they alternate between a speaker and an English Bible study in small groups with kids classes too.)
ACF Marriage Seminar
This Friday, May 25, 2012, 6:30PM
First Presbyterian Church, 5300 Main
We are so glad to have Mr. and Mrs. Sam and Judy Sims talk to us about marriage. Mrs. Judy Sims is a licensed counselor. She has helped many couples at her church. During these years, she has come into different issues, which might be important in either building up, or tearing down marriages. From what perspective should we see marriage? What are the pitfalls in marriage? What are the issues we usually neglect? What should we do? I wish your questions would receive the right answer through the seminar.
